Thumbnail Credits & Usage
Thumbnail generations use a separate allowance from your scriptwriting credits. Every eligible plan includes monthly thumbnail generations, and you can purchase more if you need them.
Monthly Generations Included in Plans
Your plan determines how many thumbnail generations are included each month at no extra cost:

These free generations reset at the start of each billing cycle. Higher-tier Scale plans include even more monthly generations.
Separate from Script Credits
Thumbnail generations are tracked independently from your scriptwriting credits. Using a thumbnail generation does not reduce your script credit balance, and vice versa.
Understanding Your Usage Counter
Your current remaining generations are displayed at the bottom of the thumbnail creator form. This shows the total across all pools (monthly allowance, add-on, and packs).
You can also view a detailed breakdown on your billing usage page, which shows:
- Monthly allowance -- How many free generations you have used and how many remain.
- Add-on quota -- If you have a thumbnail add-on subscription, its usage and remaining balance.
- Pack balance -- Any purchased thumbnail packs and their remaining generations.
Thumbnail Packs
Need more generations beyond your monthly allowance? Purchase one-time thumbnail packs from your billing settings.
Packs are available in several sizes:

Larger packs offer a lower cost per generation. Packs are a good choice when you need a burst of extra capacity without committing to a recurring subscription.
How Packs Work
- Generations from packs are added to your pack balance immediately after purchase.
- Your monthly free allowance is used first. Subscribr only draws from your pack balance after the monthly allowance is exhausted.
- Pack generations remain available as long as your subscription is active. They do not expire monthly.
Buy When You Need Them
Packs are one-time purchases with no recurring commitment. Buy them when you have a batch of videos to create thumbnails for, or when you want extra buffer heading into a busy content period.
Thumbnail Add-On Subscription
For ongoing high-volume thumbnail generation, you can add a thumbnail add-on subscription to your account. This provides additional monthly generations that reset each billing cycle, on top of your plan's free allowance.
The add-on is available to users with an active paid subscription (not available during trial periods). You can manage it from your billing settings.
What Counts as a Generation
Understanding what uses your quota helps you plan effectively:

What Is Free
- Browsing and selecting from generated concept sketches (no quota used for selecting).
- Downloading any previously generated thumbnail.
- Switching between concept sketches in an existing brainstorm batch.
- Editing the concept description or adding reference images (generation only happens when you click the generate button).
What Happens When You Run Out
When your generation quota reaches zero:
- The Generate buttons become disabled.
- A message indicates your quota is exhausted.
- A link directs you to your billing settings where you can purchase packs or upgrade your plan.
You can still:
- Browse and download existing thumbnails.
- View your thumbnail history.
- Configure thumbnail settings.
- Prepare new ideas with titles and references (ready for when you have quota again).
Your monthly allowance resets automatically at the start of your next billing cycle.
