Understanding Credits
Credits are how Subscribr measures AI usage. Every plan comes with a credit allocation, and different actions use different amounts.
How Credits Work
Think of credits like currency for AI operations. Your subscription includes credits that refresh with each billing cycle. Annual subscribers receive all credits upfront and can use them throughout the year, while monthly subscribers receive credits each billing cycle. Credits are used when you generate script content - specifically when creating the first draft of a script.
What Uses Credits
Script Generation
Generating full scripts is the primary credit consumer. Credit cost depends on script length:
| Script Length | Approx. Duration | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| 150-500 words | 1-3 minutes | 1 |
| 800-1,300 words | 5-8 minutes | 3 |
| 1,600 words | 10 minutes | 5 |
| 2,000-3,200 words | 12-20 minutes | 6 |
| 4,000-4,800 words | 25-30 minutes | 7 |
| 6,400 words | 40 minutes | 8 |
| 8,000 words | 50 minutes | 9 |
| 10,000 words | 60 minutes | 10 |
| 20,000 words | 120 minutes | 13 |
| 30,000 words | 180 minutes | 15 |
What's Free
Many features don't use credits at all. Chat conversations, outline generation, script edits and improvements (once generated, all subsequent edits are free), all research (AI Research, web searches, video analysis, channel analysis, and document uploads), and planning questions are all included at no additional credit cost.
Checking Your Credit Balance
Your current credit balance is always visible in the app - in the main navigation area, before performing credit-intensive operations, on the credits page where you can see your credit balance broken down by type (subscription credits, addon credits, bonus credits) and their expiration dates, and in your billing settings under "Credits".
When Credits Expire
Your credits remain valid for an extended period. Annual subscriptions give you credits valid throughout your subscription year and usable through your second year. Monthly subscriptions let you use credits in both the current month and the following month - for example, January's credits remain valid through February. Credits that expire soonest are always used first to help you maximize their value.
Purchasing Additional Credits
Need more credits before your next billing cycle? You can purchase addon credit packs from your billing settings.
Addon Credits Never Expire
Purchased addon credits remain valid indefinitely as long as your subscription stays active. They're a great way to top up when you need extra capacity.
Bulk purchase discounts are available when buying larger quantities.
What Happens If You Cancel
If you cancel your subscription, you'll maintain access to all features and credits until the end of your current billing period. After that, any unused credits become inaccessible. However, if you reactivate your subscription before it fully cancels, your credits will be restored.
