Writing & Editing Scripts
Once your script is generated, you have powerful tools to refine it. From direct editing to AI-assisted improvements, here's how to polish your script to perfection.
Direct Editing
The script editor works like any text editor. You can:
- Type directly to add or change text
- Delete sections you don't need
- Rearrange paragraphs
- Add your own ideas and examples
Your changes are saved automatically as you type.
Highlight and Improve
This is one of the most powerful features in Subscribr. To use it:
- Highlight any text in your script
- A toolbar appears with improvement options
- Click an option or type a custom instruction
- The AI rewrites just that section
This lets you iterate on specific parts without regenerating the entire script.
Use highlight-and-improve for targeted fixes. Instead of regenerating your whole script because one paragraph is weak, just fix that paragraph.
Using Prompt Library for Script Refinement
While editing in Canvas mode, open the Prompt Library (⌘J or Ctrl+J) to access pre-built prompts for improving your script. These are organized into categories:
Script Structure
- Strengthen the Hook
- Improve Pacing and Pattern Interrupts
- Smooth Section Transitions
- Strengthen the Conclusion
- Add Open Loops
Content Enhancement
- Simplify Readability
- Add Examples and Stories
- Add Curiosity Gaps
- Optimize for Retention
- Fact-Check with Research
Engagement
- Add Engagement Triggers
- Enhance Emotional Impact
- Strengthen Value Propositions
- Optimize Call-to-Actions
Select any prompt to apply it to your current script. The AI will analyze and suggest improvements in the chat before making changes.
Switching Models Mid-Script
Not happy with how a section turned out? You can switch AI models and regenerate:
- Change the model selector
- Highlight the section you want to redo
- Ask the AI to rewrite it
Different models have different strengths. Claude might explain a concept better, while DeepSeek might tell a story more engagingly.
Using Chat While Editing
The left panel chat is always available while you edit. Use it to:
- Ask for help with specific sections
- Brainstorm alternatives
- Get feedback on your changes
- Research additional information
Exporting Your Script
When your script is ready, export it in multiple formats:
Copy to Clipboard
Quick copy for pasting into other applications.
Word Document
Download as a .docx file for sharing or further editing in Microsoft Word.
Professional PDF format, great for printing or sharing with team members.
Teleprompter View
From the export popup, you can open your script in a teleprompter view. This full-screen mode displays your script with large, easy-to-read text - perfect for recording your video.
Publishing & Promotion
The Prompt Library includes prompts to help you create promotional content from your finished script:
- Video Description - SEO-optimized YouTube description
- Social Media Package - Posts for Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram
- Newsletter Content - Email to promote your video
- Blog Post Adaptation - Written article based on your script
- Shot List and B-Roll - Visual guide for filming
Open the Prompt Library (⌘J) while in Canvas mode and look under "Publishing & Promotion" to access these prompts.
Tips for Better Scripts
- Spend time on planning questions - Better input = better output
- Edit your outline first - Fix structure before generating the full script
- Use highlight-and-improve - Don't regenerate everything for small fixes
- Add your own voice - The AI gets you 80% there; add your personal touches
- Read aloud - Scripts are meant to be spoken; check how it sounds
