Choosing a Model
Different models work better for different tasks and preferences. Here are factors to consider:
Speed
Models vary in how quickly they generate content:
- Faster models are better for quick edits, regenerating sections, and iterating rapidly
- Slower models might be preferable for initial script generation where you want to wait once and get it right
If you find yourself waiting too long during editing, try a faster model for those quick iterations.
Word Count Adherence
Some models follow your target script length more precisely than others. If you're finding that a model consistently:
- Writes too much content for your target length
- Doesn't write enough to hit your target
Try switching to a different model. Each model interprets length instructions differently, and you may find one that better matches your expectations.
Writing Style
Models have subtly different writing characteristics. Experiment to find which one best matches your voice and content style.
How to Switch Models
You can select your preferred model when creating a script, or set a default in your channel settings:
- Go to your channel's Settings page (accessible from your channels page)
- Find "Draft Writing Model" in the Script Defaults section
- Select your preferred model from the dropdown
- New scripts will use this model by default

You can also change models mid-script - for example, using one model for the initial generation and a faster model for edits.
Experimentation is Key
There's no single "best" model for everyone. Try generating content with different models to see which one aligns best with your personal style and workflow.
Credit Cost
Credits are based on script length, not which model you choose. You can select any model without worrying about different credit costs.
Model Updates
AI technology moves fast. Subscribr regularly updates to the latest stable versions of these models, so model names in the dropdown reflect current versions.
