Using Bookmarks

Build a curated collection of channels and videos for your research. Bookmarks help you organize insights, track competitors, and share discoveries with your team.

Why Use Bookmarks?

Intel bookmarks help you build a curated collection of successful content, organize research by project, niche, or strategy, and share insights with team members. They're perfect for tracking competitors and rising creators, saving videos with formats you want to reference, and creating a visual library of thumbnail and title inspiration.

How to Bookmark a Channel

  1. Navigate to the channel details page
  2. Click the "Bookmark" button
  3. Add optional notes about why you're saving this channel
  4. Add relevant tags to categorize your bookmark
  5. Click "Save Bookmark"

How to Bookmark a Video

  1. Open the video details page
  2. Click the "Bookmark" button
  3. Add notes and tags as with channel bookmarks
  4. Click "Save Bookmark"

Quick Bookmarking

You can also bookmark directly from search results or trending sections by clicking the bookmark icon on channel or video cards.

Organizing with Tags and Notes

Creating Effective Tags

Tags help categorize and filter your bookmarks. Consider creating tags for:

  • Content categories - "fitness", "cooking", "educational"
  • Format types - "tutorials", "reviews", "vlogs"
  • Research purposes - "competitive-analysis", "inspiration", "format-ideas"
  • Projects - "q3-content-plan", "new-channel-research"
  • Performance indicators - "high-outliers", "trending-channels"

Writing Useful Notes

Notes provide context for why you saved something. Include key observations about the content, what specifically made you bookmark it, ideas for how to apply what you learned, questions for team members to consider, and potential adaptation ideas for your channel.

Accessing Your Bookmarks

Finding Your Bookmarked Content

  1. From the Intel dashboard, click "View Bookmarks" or go directly to the bookmarks page
  2. You'll see all bookmarked videos and channels
  3. Toggle between "Videos" and "Channels" tabs to filter by content type

Filtering Your Collection

Use the "Filter by Tags" option to narrow down your bookmarks. You can select one or more tags to find specific categories of saved content, and combine multiple tags to find highly specific bookmarks.

Team Collaboration

All bookmarks are visible to your team members (with appropriate permissions).

Collaborating with Team Bookmarks

Add detailed notes to share insights with team members, and agree on a consistent tagging system everyone understands. Review team bookmarks regularly to stay aligned on research, and reference specific bookmarks during content planning meetings.

Best Practices for Team Bookmarking

Assign specific research areas to different team members and create project-specific tags for organized collaboration. Adding your initials to notes helps track who contributed what information. Schedule regular reviews of recently added bookmarks to keep everyone aligned.

Building a Bookmark Research System

Develop a consistent approach to maximize the value of your bookmarks:

Example Workflow

  1. Discover - Find interesting channels and videos during research
  2. Save - Bookmark with appropriate tags and detailed notes
  3. Organize - Periodically review and refine your tagging system
  4. Reference - Use bookmarks during content planning sessions
  5. Update - Add new notes as you learn more about saved content

Building Specialized Collections

Create focused bookmark collections for different purposes:

  • Competitor tracking - Bookmark key competitors and tag with "competitors"
  • Thumbnail inspiration - Save videos with compelling thumbnails
  • Hook examples - Bookmark videos with effective opening hooks
  • Trending topics - Create a collection of videos on rising topics
  • Format ideas - Save videos with formats you might adapt

Practical Applications

For Content Planning

  1. Create a tag for each month's content plan
  2. Bookmark videos and channels relevant to upcoming content
  3. Reference these bookmarks during planning sessions
  4. Add notes about how you'll adapt successful elements

For Thumbnail Design

  1. Bookmark videos with thumbnails that caught your attention
  2. Create tags for different thumbnail styles (face closeups, text overlays, etc.)
  3. Reference this collection when designing your own thumbnails
  4. Note which elements you find most compelling

For Competitor Tracking

  1. Bookmark your main competitors
  2. Check their profiles regularly for new high-performing content
  3. Add notes about changes in their strategy or content approach
  4. Use tags to categorize competitors by sub-niche or audience size

Tips for Effective Bookmarking

Be selective and bookmark only truly noteworthy content. Add context immediately while your observations are fresh, and use consistent tags so your tagging system stays organized. Review regularly to keep your collection useful, and update old bookmarks with new insights as you learn more. Clean up periodically to remove outdated bookmarks that are no longer relevant.
