Channel Settings

Configure your channel's defaults to streamline your script creation workflow. Settings you choose here apply to all new scripts in this channel.

Accessing Settings

  1. Select your channel from the channel switcher
  2. Click the "Settings" link in the channel navigation
  3. Use the sidebar to jump between sections

Channel Details (Custom Channels)

For custom channels (not linked to YouTube), you can edit:

  • Channel Name - The name displayed throughout Subscribr
  • Description - A brief description of your channel's focus

Script Defaults

These settings apply automatically when you create new scripts:

Audience

Select which audience profile to use for scripts. If you have multiple audience segments defined, choose the primary one here.

Draft Writing Model

Choose your preferred AI model for generating scripts:

  • Claude 4 Sonnet / Claude 4.5 Sonnet - Natural, human-like writing
  • GPT 5 / GPT 5.1 - Great for educational content
  • DeepSeek V3.1 - Strong for storytelling
  • Gemini 2.5 Pro / Gemini 3.0 Pro - Fast alternatives
  • Grok 4 / Kimi K2 - Additional options

Experiment with Models

Different models have different strengths. Try generating similar content with different models to find which works best for your style.

Default Template

Select a template that matches most of your content:

  • Flexible - Adapts to any video type (recommended for most users)
  • Educational - Teaching, tutorials, how-tos
  • Documentary - Story-driven, investigative content
  • Commentary - Opinion pieces, reactions, analysis
  • Review - Product or content reviews
  • Explainer - Breaking down complex topics

You can always change the template when creating individual scripts.

Default Script Length

Set your typical video length. Options range from short-form (1-3 minutes) to long-form (60+ minutes). This helps the AI calibrate the appropriate amount of detail and pacing.

Competitor Intel

Track competitors and get regular updates on their content:

Adding Competitors

Enter YouTube channel URLs to track. Subscribr will monitor these channels and surface:

  • New video uploads
  • Outlier videos that perform above average
  • Content trends and patterns

Competitor Digests

Receive email updates when your tracked competitors publish new content or have notable performers.

YouTube Link

Linking a YouTube Channel

Connect a YouTube channel to import data for voice training and audience analysis. You can:

  • Change the linked YouTube channel
  • Re-sync data from YouTube
  • Unlink the channel entirely

Re-linking Updates Your Voice

When you link or re-link a YouTube channel, your voice profile will be regenerated based on the new channel's content.

Danger Zone

Critical actions that can't be undone:

Delete Channel

Permanently removes the channel and all associated:

  • Scripts
  • Research
  • Voice profiles
  • Audience data
  • Settings

Cannot Be Undone

Export any scripts you want to keep before deleting a channel. This action is permanent.
